Where the devotional path of Yoga and Ayurveda intertwine

Coming early 2026

A New School is Blooming at Svastha

Rooted in the ancient traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda—and nourished by the land, sea, and spirit of Costa Rica—the Abhyasa School of Yoga is a new training space designed for seekers, teachers, and those on a path of embodied transformation.

Housed within the healing grounds of Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda Café, The Abhyasa School of Yoga blends traditional practice, modern insight, and holistic living to offer internationally accredited teacher trainings that honor lineage, accessibility, and lived experience.

Whether you’re called to become a teacher or deepen your personal path, this school invites you into a curriculum that is both rigorous and soul-led.

Our Mission

To guide students into the heart of yoga through consistent practice (abhyasa), self-inquiry, and devotion.

Our mission is to honor the roots of yoga while making its teachings accessible, inclusive, and deeply embodied.

We believe learning should be immersive, integrative, and in rhythm with nature.

We are here to create a school where ancient wisdom meets real life—supported by the healing pillars of Ayurveda, community, and the natural world.

The Four Elements of The Abhyasa School of Yoga

Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the four elements—Earth, Water, Fire, and Air—which serve as energetic anchors for our curriculum and personal practice.

Earth

- allows us to meet the body where it is, understand its wisdom and offer it what it needs through movement, rest, food and supportive environment

Water

- allows us to be present to the fluctuations of our emotions and of life itself. This gives us the capacity to be compassionate and fluid, and to bend in the ways that life will demand.

Fire

- allows to be disciplined, devotional and determined in our chosen path and gives us the capacity to be focussed, to grow spiritually and to have courage to meet what must be faced

Air

- allows us to access the realm of intelligence and ideas, free from confines and constraints. We can feed or empty the mind so that we can benefit from the imagination and connection to higher ideals.

Together, these elements create a holistic path of learning, healing, and becoming.

Our Trainings

We offer a foundational 200hr certification for those ready to teach or deepen their practice. Here you will learn core philosophy, alignment, sequencing, anatomy, Ayurveda, and more. After graduating, new teachers are eligible to register with the Yoga Alliance.

Specialist & Continuing Education

Further trainings will be announced in the future. There will be a 300hr yoga teacher training, which is an immersive next-level training for certified teachers who want to specialize in topics such as trauma-informed yoga, esoteric energetics, tantra, prenatal/postnatal, and living yoga off the mat.

We will also announce short focused trainings and short courses in Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Ayurveda, and other evolving topics designed to support growth over a lifetime.
